The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Admission Details
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27. The admission portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who can submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Standardized test scores may be required. These include:
- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
- University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
- DST INSPIRE
International examination scores can also be submitted:
- Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
- Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
English proficiency must be demonstrated through scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
