IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students – Apply by March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened admissions for international students to its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are due by March 30, 2026 .

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications must be submitted through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in .

Admission Process

Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees. These referees will be contacted to comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International exam scores from Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) may also be considered. Applicants must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Criteria

Admission decisions will be based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to meet with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline. This committee will assess their suitability for the program.
