IIT Delhi is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , by 4 p.m.
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27.
Prospective students must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide contact details for two referees. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Admission Process Details
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores from GRE or GMAT are also considered.
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
Applicants must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
