About This Scholarship
Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Tripura 2025-26 is an initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It is designed for Scheduled Caste (SC) category students from Tripura who are pursuing studies at the post-matriculation or post-secondary level.
Selected students will receive an academic allowance of up to ₹13,500 per annum and other valuable benefits.
Benefits of the Scholarship:
The selected students will receive the following awards:
• Compulsory non-refundable fees including tuition fees as fixed by the fee/fixation rationalisation committee of the state government.
• An academic allowance, detailed in the table below, based on the course group:

Note on Allowances:
• An additional 10% allowance will be provided to disabled students.
• Students pursuing CA/ICWA/CS/ICFA will be considered day scholars for academic allowances.
• Students studying through correspondence or online courses will not be eligible for academic allowances.
Freeship Card:
As per the scheme guidelines, all eligible students are entitled to admission to institutions without pre-payment of tuition fees and hostel fees. To avail of this benefit, a freeship card will be issued to eligible students by the state government. Students with freeship cards can attend school without paying fees upfront, and the institution will subsequently receive the fees directly from the scholarship funds.
Application Deadline: The application deadline for this scholarship is 15 January 2026.
Selection Criteria: Students will be selected based on the fulfillment of the eligibility conditions outlined for the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be an Indian national.
• Be domiciled in Tripura.
• Belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
• Be pursuing a post-matriculation or post-secondary course in a recognised institution, college, or university (as specified in the terms & conditions section below).
• Have an annual family income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources.
Important Notes on Eligibility:
• The age limit for admission as a regular student in different classes will be determined by the respective institutions.
• Candidates who are repeating the same stage of education in different subjects (e.g., I.Sc. after I.A. or B.Com. after a B.A., or pursuing an M.A. in a different subject after completing an M.A. in another subject) are ineligible.
• Candidates pursuing their studies through correspondence courses are eligible to apply. However, this applies only to distance and continuous education offered by Central/State universities.
• If a student is awarded two scholarships simultaneously, they can choose one and formally communicate their preference to the awarding authorities through their institution's Head.
Required Documents
The following documents are required for the scholarship application:
• A passport-sized photograph of the student.
• One attested copy of academic transcripts, including certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.
• A valid caste certificate duly signed by an authorised Revenue Officer (RO), not below the rank of Tehsildar.
• An income certificate for the parent(s)/guardian(s), issued by the authority as determined by the state government.
• A receipt acknowledging the scholarship from the previous year (if applicable).
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship through the following steps on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP):
1. Visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
2. If you are a new user, click on 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
3. Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
4. Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
5. Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process.
• Note: This is a temporary registration number. Students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.
6. After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
7. Select the scholarship, fill in all the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit your application.
Important Note: All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
