Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is now accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application window is open for foreign national students . The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4:00 PM.

Eligibility Criteria
Applications are open to individuals who are non-Indian nationals . This includes candidates holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. These individuals are eligible to apply for both PhD and PG courses offered by IIT Delhi.
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of their English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Admission Requirements
IIT Delhi may require scores from standardized tests. These can include:
- Indian Entrance Exams: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE.
- International Exams: GRE, GMAT.
English proficiency test scores are also mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may also be considered.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline. They will assess the candidate’s suitability for the program.
