Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applications are for the 2026-27 academic year .
Interested students must apply online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal atinternational.iitd.ac.in. The portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026 .
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores such as GRE and GMAT are also considered.
English language proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English are mandatory. Students must demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English.
Selection Process
Final selection is based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. The interview committee comprises faculty members from the relevant discipline.
