The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Admission Details for International Students
The application portal will close at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026. Non-Indian nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English language proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Depending on the program, candidates may need to submit scores from Indian entrance examinations. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
International examination scores are also considered. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Additionally, applicants must submit scores from recognized English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
