IIT Delhi has opened admissions for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can apply online at international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Details
Foreign nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. The application portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will be contacted for comments on the applicant’s aptitude and research potential.
Academic Criteria
Admission may require scores from tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores such as GRE and GMAT can also be submitted. English proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, or similar exams are necessary.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi selects candidates based on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant disciplines.
