IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications are for the 2026-27 academic year . Interested students must apply through the official website: international.iitd.ac.in .
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG admissions. International exam scores from GRE or GMAT are also accepted.
Applicants must also submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission is based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. An interview committee of faculty members will assess candidates for the relevant discipline.
