IIT Delhi PhD/PG Admissions for International Students – Apply by March 30

IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.

Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applications are for the 2026-27 academic year.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who can submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field-specific knowledge, research potential, independent thinking skills, and English language abilities.

IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG admissions. International exam scores from GRE or GMAT are also acceptable.

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Admission Process

Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
