About This Scholarship
The Vice-Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship for India 2025 is a prestigious opportunity presented by the University of Waikato, New Zealand. This scholarship aims to provide substantial financial assistance to eligible students from India who are embarking on full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programs at the university.
Successful recipients will receive a one-time scholarship ranging from NZD 2,500 to NZD 15,000 (approximately ₹1,24,426 • ₹7,46,558). This award is specifically allocated towards tuition fees for the first 12 months of study and will be disbursed equally across two trimesters. Beyond financial support, scholarship recipients are also expected to serve as global ambassadors for the University of Waikato, representing its values and academic excellence.
Important Notes for Recipients:
• Students are responsible for paying the full tuition fee amount minus the scholarship award.
• The scholarship offer will be valid for 14 days from the date of notification. Applicants must accept within this timeframe, otherwise, the offer will become invalid.
• The precise number of scholarships granted and the individual value of each scholarship are determined at the discretion of the Scholarships Committee.
• Scholarship disbursal will be based on various criteria, including available funding, the intended program of study, the duration of the program, the number of enrolled credits, and the GPA equivalency of the applicant.
• Any remaining tuition fees and other costs associated with study, living, or travel will not be covered by this scholarship.
• The maximum tenure for which the scholarship is valid is 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship for India 2025, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:
• Be a citizen or permanent resident of India.
• Be enrolling in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program as a new international student at the University of Waikato.
• Possess a minimum GPA equivalency of B+ in the qualification required for admission to the University of Waikato.
• Have received a conditional or unconditional offer of place from the University of Waikato.
Applicants will be deemed ineligible if any of the following conditions apply:
• Currently enrolled at the University of Waikato College or any University of Waikato degree program.
• Have paid tuition fees or applied for a visa at the time of application.
• Enrolling at the University of Waikato via a sponsoring body, on a Guaranteed Credit Arrangement, or through a study abroad or student exchange agreement.
• Are offshore applicants applying on or after specific deadlines for trimester offers:
• 31st December for an A Trimester offer of a place.
• 30th April for a B Trimester offer of a place.
• 31st August for a C Trimester offer of a place.
• 31st October for an H or X Trimester offer of a place.
