IIT Delhi PhD/PG Admissions Open for International Students

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. Foreign national students can apply. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, 4:00 PM . Applicants must use the official website: international.iitd.ac.in .

Eligibility and Application Requirements

Non-Indian nationals are eligible. This includes individuals with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.

Referees will comment on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. This information is according to official notifications.

Academic and Language Proficiency Scores

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from specific entrance exams. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), and DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also accepted. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Admission Process

Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
