IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for Int’l Students – Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. International students can apply online. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27.

Admission Details

Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in. The portal closes at 4 pm on March 30, 2026.

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to list two referees who can submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.

Eligibility and Scores

Submission of scores from specific entrance examinations may be required. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like GRE and GMAT may also be considered.

Candidates may also need to submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may also be accepted.

Selection Process

Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline. The committee will assess the candidate’s suitability for the program.
