IIT Delhi PhD/PG Admissions for International Students Open

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. Foreign nationals can apply. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 PM . Applications are for the academic year 2026-2027.

Eligibility and Application Process

Non-Indian citizens are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They must also provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.

Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills. This information comes from an official notification.

Required Test Scores

IIT Delhi may require scores from specific entrance exams. For PhD and PG programs, these can include:

  • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
  • Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)

  • DST INSPIRE

International test scores are also accepted. These include:

Admission Selection

Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited. An interview committee of faculty members will conduct the interviews.
