IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .

Admission Details

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27. The application portal is located at international.iitd.ac.in.

The application window closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.

Submission of scores from tests like Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), or University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) may be required for PhD and PG programs.

International examination scores from Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also considered for admission.

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission decisions will be based on performance in an interview. Students with strong academic records will receive interview invitations. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
