Eligibility and Requirements
Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through a self-declaration. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. Candidates may need to submit scores from national tests like Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores from Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.
Application Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. A strong academic record is necessary to secure an interview. The interview committee will comprise faculty members from the relevant discipline.
Applicants must also submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. Other recognized language tests are also considered.
