IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students Open

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

The admission opportunity is open to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must provide a statement or self-declaration of their English language proficiency.

Candidates are required to name two referees. These referees will be contacted to comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking skills, and English language abilities.

Academic and Language Proficiency Scores

To be eligible for PhD and PG programs at IIT Delhi, applicants may need to submit scores from national-level tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also accepted. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English language proficiency must be demonstrated through scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or the Cambridge English Examination.

Admission Process

IIT Delhi will admit students based on their performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline. The interview committee will assess their suitability for the program.
