The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can submit applications. The application portal is accessible at international.iitd.ac.in .
Admission Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to list two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English communication skills.
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores such as GRE and GMAT are also considered.
Candidates must submit English proficiency test scores. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
