IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for Foreign Nationals – Apply by March 30

IIT Delhi is now accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Foreign nationals can apply for the academic year 2026-27. The application window closes on March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.

Interested candidates must apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in .

Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.

Referees will assess candidates on their aptitude. They will also comment on proficiency in the chosen field, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.

Admission Criteria

IIT Delhi may require scores from national or international standardized tests. These can include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International exam scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.

English language proficiency must be demonstrated. Accepted test scores include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Final admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
