IIT Delhi is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can apply online at international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Details
The application portal for foreign nationals closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026. This opportunity is open to non-Indian citizens. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will be contacted for recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude and research potential.
IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams. These include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, and DST INSPIRE. International standardized test scores are also considered. Accepted international tests include GRE and GMAT.
Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may also be accepted.
Selection Process
Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
