IIT Delhi has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 .
Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are being accepted for the academic year 2026-27.
The application portal is available online at international.iitd.ac.in. The portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement on English proficiency. They must also provide the names of two referees. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores such as GRE and GMAT may also be considered.
English language proficiency test scores are necessary. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview committee will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
