Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is now accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs . The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 PM . Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in .
Eligibility Criteria
Applications are open to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency. This can be done through a self-declaration. They also need to provide contact details for two referees.
Reference Letters
Referees will assess candidates. They will comment on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and independent thinking. English language skills will also be evaluated.
Admission Requirements
IIT Delhi may require scores from specific entrance examinations. These include:
- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
- University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
- DST INSPIRE

Selection Process
