IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students Open

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .

Admission Details

Foreign nationals can apply for the academic year 2026-27. The application portal, located at international.iitd.ac.in, will close at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.

Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees who can submit recommendation letters.

The referees will evaluate candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.

Prospective students may need to submit scores from standardized tests such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

Scores from international examinations like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.

English language proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination are required.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will offer admission based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee in their chosen discipline.
