IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students – Apply by March 30

IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can submit their applications online. The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must provide a statement of English language proficiency. They also need to name two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International applicants can also submit scores from exams like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Proof of English language proficiency through tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination is also mandatory.

Selection Process

Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs will be based on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee. The committee evaluates candidates’ suitability for their chosen discipline.
