IIT Hyderabad Launches New MTech in AI & Computational Engineering

IIT Hyderabad launched two new postgraduate programs this academic year. The courses are Master of Technology (M.Tech) degrees. They focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) within chemical engineering. A second M.Tech program is in Computational Chemical Engineering. These programs integrate AI, ML, and advanced computational modeling with traditional chemical engineering. The goal is to train students. They will learn to use digital tools for complex engineering problems. These include chemical processes, materials development, and energy systems. Graduates will be prepared for research and technology industries. Data analysis and computational tools are key skills.

Admissions and Program Details

Admission to both M.Tech programs requires a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score. Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree. The degree should be in a relevant engineering discipline. The M.Tech program spans two years. It is divided into four semesters. The curriculum includes core courses and electives. Laboratory work and a research thesis are also required. The program structure provides theoretical understanding and practical experience.

Program Objectives

IIT Hyderabad aims to foster interdisciplinary learning. The new programs combine chemical engineering with modern computational and AI techniques. This initiative addresses the rising demand for engineers. These engineers need skills in both engineering principles and advanced digital technologies. The institute released an official information brochure detailing the programs.
