The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened admissions for international students to its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are accepted online at international.iitd.ac.in .
The application window closes on March 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM . This applies to admissions for the academic years 2026-27.
Eligibility Criteria
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. Two referees who can provide recommendation letters are also required.
Referees will be asked to assess candidates’ aptitude, field-specific proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
Admission Requirements
IIT Delhi may require scores from national-level entrance examinations such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs. International examination scores, including GRE and GMAT, may also be considered.
English language proficiency test scores from exams like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English are mandatory.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview with a faculty committee from the relevant department.
