Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 PM .
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applications are for the academic years 2026-27. Interested candidates must apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website atinternational.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG admissions. International examination scores like GRE and GMAT can also be submitted.
Candidates must also present scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination .
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited for interviews with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
