Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. Foreign nationals can apply for the 2026-27 academic year. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Admission Details
The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in. Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They must also provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
Standardized Test Scores
Depending on the program, candidates may need to submit scores from examinations such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.
English Proficiency Tests
Scores from English language proficiency tests are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews with faculty committees from their chosen discipline.
