IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 .

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are accepted through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in .

Admission Process

Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests such as the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) may also be considered. English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination scores are required.

Selection Criteria

Admission decisions will be based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline.
