IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students | Apply by March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from foreign nationals for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can apply online through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal.

Admission Details

The application window is open for admission to the academic year 2026-27. Non-Indian nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) status, are eligible to apply. The portal closes at 4 pm on March 30, 2026.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.

Eligibility Criteria

IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance examinations like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs. International exam scores, including GRE and GMAT, may also be considered. English proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English are mandatory.

Selection Process

Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee in their chosen discipline. The committee will assess the candidate’s suitability for the program.
