About This Scholarship
Post Matric Scholarship for BC, EWS and DNT Students, Haryana 2025-26 is an opportunity offered by the Department of Welfare of Scheduled Caste & Backward Classes, Government of Haryana.
The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to students belonging to the Backwards Classes (BC), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Denotified and Nomadic Tribes (DNT) communities of the state who are studying at the post-matric level of education.
The application deadline for this scholarship is November 30, 2025.
Selected candidates will receive comprehensive financial aid, including an annual academic allowance and tuition fees. The benefits are categorized into different groups based on the course type:
• Group 1: Degree and postgraduate level professional courses receive an academic allowance of ₹10,000 and tuition fees of ₹10,000 per annum, totaling ₹20,000.
• Group 2: Other professional courses leading to Degree, Diploma, and Certificate receive an academic allowance of ₹8,000 and tuition fees of ₹5,000 per annum, totaling ₹13,000.
• Group 3: Graduate and Postgraduate courses that aren't covered in Groups 1 and 2 receive an academic allowance of ₹6,000 and tuition fees of ₹2,000 per annum, totaling ₹8,000.
• Group 4: All post-matriculation (Post Class 10 level) non-degree courses receive an academic allowance of ₹5,000 per annum.
Students pursuing studies through correspondence/online courses are eligible for tuition fees but not the academic allowance.
A key feature of this scholarship is the provision of a Freeship Card, which allows eligible students to gain admission to institutions without pre-payment of tuition and hostel fees. Students with freeship cards can attend school without immediate fees. The institution will later receive these fees directly from the scholarship funds.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, an applicant must:
• be an Indian national
• be domiciled in Haryana
• belong to the Backwards Classes (BC), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Denotified and Nomadic Tribes (DNT) communities of the state
• be studying a post-matriculation or post-secondary course in a recognised institution/college/university
• have passed matriculation or higher secondary or any higher level examination from a recognised University or Board of Secondary Education
• have an annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources
Note:
• Candidates who, after passing one stage of education, are studying in the same stage of education in a different subject (e.g., B.Sc. after B.A. or B.Com after B.A. or M.A. in a subject after M.A. in another subject) will not be eligible.
• Students who, after having completed their educational career in one professional line (e.g., LLB after B.T/B. Ed) will not be eligible.
• Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine will be eligible only if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
• Candidates who are pursuing their studies through correspondence are eligible to apply. The term correspondence includes distance and continuous education for courses in Central/State universities only.
• No scholarship will be paid to students who have accepted benefits under some other scholarship. However, students may avail free housing, grants, or other financial aid to help cover costs like books, equipment, and living expenses, under this scheme.
Required Documents
The following documents are required for the application:
• A passport-size photograph of the student
• One attested copy of the academic transcripts, including certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.
• A valid caste certificate duly signed by an authorised Revenue Officer (RO), not below the rank of Tehsildar
• An income certificate of parent(s)/guardian(s) issued by the authority as decided by the state government
• A receipt in acknowledgement of the scholarship in the previous year (if applicable)
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:
1. Click on the 'Apply Now' button, usually found on the official website.
2. Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to register. (Note:• If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
3. Navigate to 'Student Registration', under the 'Student' section at the top left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
4. Enter the Parivar Pehchaan Patra (Family ID); a list of members will be displayed. Select the applicant's name, and click on the 'Generate OTP' button.
5. Enter the OTP received on the registered Mobile No. and click on the 'Verify OTP' button.
6. After OTP Verification, all the details get auto-filled in the Registration Form. Cross-check the information before proceeding with the application process.
7. Select the Department and College, create a password, and click on the 'Register' button.
8. Click the login link at the portal and enter valid credentials to apply for the scholarship.
9. Provide all necessary details like course, roll no, eligibility, etc.
10. Click on the 'Apply' button to save and submit the application.
