IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students – Apply by March 30

IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Interested foreign nationals can submit their applications through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Requirements for International Students

Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. The application portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.

Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to list two referees who can submit recommendation letters. These referees will evaluate a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills, according to the official notification.

IIT Delhi may require scores from standardized tests for admission. These can include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the Department of Science and Technology (DST) INSPIRE program.

International examination scores are also considered. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Candidates will also need to submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Final admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
