IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students – Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. The referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.

Admission Criteria

IIT Delhi will consider scores from national and international standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), and DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs. International applicants may also submit scores from the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Admission to IIT Delhi programs for foreign nationals will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to this interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline. Applicants must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
