IIT Delhi has opened applications for international students seeking admission to its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline for applications is March 30, 2026 .
Admission Details
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in.
Application Process
Applicants must provide a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to list two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These can include:
- Indian Tests: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE
- International Tests: GRE, GMAT
English proficiency test scores from exams like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English are also required.
Selection Procedure
Admission will be based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview panel consisting of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
