IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students Open

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 .

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can submit applications online. The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International examination scores are also accepted. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Candidates may also need to submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
