IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students

IIT Delhi is now accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs . The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can submit their applications online via the official portal at international.iitd.ac.in.

The admissions portal will remain open until 4:00 PM on March 30, 2026. This intake is for the academic year 2026-2027 .

Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. They are encouraged to apply for the available PhD and PG courses.

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide a statement or self-declaration confirming their English language proficiency. The application also requires the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These letters will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English communication skills.

Candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International tests like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.

International students must also provide scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may also be considered.

Selection Process

Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline. This committee will evaluate their suitability for the program.
