Admission Requirements
Applicants must provide a self-declaration of English language proficiency. They also need to submit the names of two referees who can provide recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking skills, and English language abilities.
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may also require scores from national examinations such as the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST INSPIRE). International students might also submit scores from exams like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination scores are also required. Candidates need to submit proof of these scores.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their performance in an interview. Those with a strong academic record will be invited to an interview conducted by a faculty committee from the relevant discipline. The interview assesses the candidate’s suitability for the chosen program.
