Admission Process for Foreign Nationals
Applications are submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in. The portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026. Candidates must declare their English language proficiency. They will also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.

Eligibility and Required Scores
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs requires specific test scores. Candidates may need to submit scores from examinations such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
International examination scores are also accepted. These include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Criteria
Admission to IIT Delhi programs is based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will receive an invitation. The interview panel will comprise faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
