Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applications must be submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Eligibility Criteria
While specific program prerequisites vary, eligibility for PhD and PG courses may include scores from national entrance exams. These can include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
International examination scores are also considered. Accepted tests include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
English language proficiency must be demonstrated. Candidates may need to submit scores from tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or the Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline.
