IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students Open

IIT Delhi has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible.

Admission Process

Applications are accepted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website:international.iitd.ac.in. The portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.

Additional requirements may include scores from the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the DST INSPIRE program. International examination scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) may also be considered.

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Criteria

IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
