About This Scholarship
The Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students Studying In Classes 9 and 10, Goa 2025-26, is an initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. This scholarship aims to provide crucial financial assistance to students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category who are currently enrolled in Class 9 and 10.
A primary objective of this scholarship program is to significantly reduce the dropout rate among SC students as they transition from the elementary to the secondary stage of their education. By offering financial support, the scheme seeks to encourage continuous academic progression.
Selected students will receive a consolidated academic allowance, which can be up to ₹7,000 per annum. Additionally, an extra allowance is provided for disabled students, ensuring more inclusive support. The application deadline for this scholarship is November 30, 2025.
Candidates will be selected based on their merit and strict adherence to the specified eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be an Indian citizen.
• Be a domicile of Goa.
• Belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
• Be a full-time student currently studying in Class 9 or 10 at a recognized institution.
• Have a family income of less than ₹2,50,000 per annum.
The scholarship also provides specific benefits:
Students will receive a consolidated academic allowance, detailed as follows:
• Day Scholar: ₹3,500 per annum
• Hosteller: ₹7,000 per annum
An additional 10% extra allowance will be granted to Divyang (disabled) students.
Important Notes:
• Disability is defined under the relevant Section of the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016. Appropriate government authorities with requisite qualifications and experience will designate certifying authorities for issuing disability certificates.
• The scholarship award is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and maintaining a minimum of 75% attendance throughout each academic year.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
• One recent passport-size photograph bearing the student's signature.
• Self-attested copies of certificates and mark sheets for previously passed examinations.
• A caste certificate, duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tehsildar.
• The income certificate of the parents.
• Academic transcripts, which include mark sheets and relevant certificates.
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the NSP Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students by following these steps on the official website:
1. Visit the official website: Navigate to the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
2. Registration: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the necessary registration details. If you are already registered, log in using your Gmail, mobile number, or Email ID.
3. Access Students' Section: On the left-hand side of the dashboard, find and click on the 'Students' option.
4. Login for OTR: Click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option, which is essential for applying for scholarships on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
5. New User Registration on NSP: If you are a new user on NSP, click on 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Read and Proceed: Carefully read the details provided, tick the checkbox to confirm, and then click on the 'Next' button.
7. Complete Registration: Enter a functional mobile number, the displayed captcha code, and the OTP received. Submit these details to complete the initial registration process.
8. One-Time Registration (OTR): Fill in all required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the One-time registration (OTR) process. Note: This is a temporary registration number. Students will need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to finalize the OTR process.
9. Apply for Scholarship: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
10. Final Submission: Select the specific scholarship, accurately fill in all the required details, upload the necessary documents, and then submit your application.
Important points to remember:
• All applicants are strongly advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form.
• Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made.
• Submitting multiple applications will lead to disqualification.
