Yuva Sangam Phase 6 Details
Selected participants will embark on exposure tours from April to June 2026. These tours aim to foster understanding between youth from different regions. The program facilitates interaction through shared culture and learning experiences.
Program Structure and Themes
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has paired 22 HEIs for Phase 6. Participating institutions include IIT Delhi, IIT Ropar, IIT Indore, and IIM Jammu, among others. The tours will focus on five core themes, termed the ‘5 Ps’:
- Paryatan (Tourism)
- Parampara (Traditions)
- Pragati (Development)
- Prodyogiki (Technology)
- Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect)
These themes guide students to explore the host state’s culture, innovation, and development initiatives.
Operational Guidelines for HEIs
Yuva Sangam Phase 6 aligns with the National Education Policy 2020’s emphasis on experiential learning. HEIs must develop detailed tour plans, often in collaboration with various partners. These plans may include interactions with industry leaders, local entrepreneurs, artists, NGOs, and community groups to provide practical learning experiences.
To ensure smooth execution, HEIs are required to appoint a nodal officer for coordination. The Higher Education Department has issued a standard operating procedure, checklist, and best practices guide. The UGC stresses that active participation from HEIs is crucial for the program’s success and for advancing the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ vision.
