The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened admissions for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. Applications are being accepted for the academic year 2026-27. The deadline for submission is March 30, 2026 .
Admission Details
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible to apply. The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. These referees will be asked to assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Submission of scores from national and international examinations may be required. This includes tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE, GRE, and GMAT.
English proficiency test scores from exams such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English are also necessary.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline.
