Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for international students seeking admission to PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applications are being accepted for the 2026-27 academic year through the official website:international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement or self-declaration of English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may also require scores from standardized tests. These include:
- Indian Standardized Tests: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE
- International Standardized Tests: GRE, GMAT
Additionally, candidates must submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline. The interview committee will evaluate the candidate’s suitability for the program.
