CISCE Cancels UAE Exams 2026: ICSE Class 10, ISC Class 12

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has cancelled the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 exams in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for 2026. The decision comes amid heightened security concerns in the region, reportedly linked to the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.

Exam Cancellation Details

CISCE announced the cancellation after consulting with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai and the Consulate General of India in Dubai. The board had previously postponed these exams from March 2 to April 6, 2026, for all UAE centers. This postponement has now been superseded by a full cancellation due to wider instability in the Middle East.

Alternative Assessment Planned

With the cancellation, CISCE is expected to implement an alternative assessment method for affected students. The board has not yet released specific details on this evaluation process. Reports suggest the council may adopt an approach similar to the one used during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students should maintain close contact with their respective schools for updates on the evaluation process. Further information is expected to be provided by board officials soon.

Similar Actions in the Region

CISCE is not the only examination board to adjust its schedule in the Middle East due to conflict. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also cancelled its Class 10 exams and postponed its Class 12 exams in the region. CBSE issued its order citing the ongoing war conflict.
