About This Scholarship
The Azrieli International Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026-27 offers generous funding and personalised support to outstanding scientists and scholars in any academic discipline. This esteemed fellowship aims to attract top talent to Israel, fostering advanced research and academic collaboration.
Selected candidates for this prestigious fellowship will receive a stipend of ILS 14,000 per month, complemented by a research grant of ILS 20,000 per year. The fellowship is initially offered for a period of two years. Renewal for a third year will be considered favourably based on a competitive evaluation process, encouraging sustained academic contribution.

Up to 24 candidates will be selected each year through a comprehensive evaluation process. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, an applicant must:
• Hold a PhD degree, signified by the date on their diploma, obtained no earlier than 1 November 2022. This degree must have been obtained in a country other than Israel.
• Not have received any academic degree from an Israeli institution.
• Not have begun a postdoctoral position in Israel before 1 September 2025.
• Have successfully secured an academic sponsor and commit to performing their postdoctoral research at one of the following recognized Israeli institutions:
• Bar-Ilan University
• Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
• Reichman University
• Technion – Israel Institute of Technology
• Tel Aviv University
• The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
• University of Haifa
• Weizmann Institute of Science
Note:
• Allowances and considerations are made for applicants who have experienced parental or medical leave, or other significant career interruptions.
• Applicants currently enrolled in a PhD program are eligible to apply, provided they successfully defend their dissertation by 1st June 2026. Official documentation verifying the defence date will be required.
• Individuals who have previously participated in visiting and/or exchange student programs in Israel are eligible to apply for this fellowship.
