IIT Delhi has opened applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can apply through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Details
The application portal will close at 4 pm on March 30, 2026. Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores from GRE or GMAT may also be considered.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will offer admission based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
Applicants must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
