Admission Details for Foreign Nationals
The application window is open for the 2026-27 academic year . This opportunity is available to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to name two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores like GRE and GMAT may also be considered.
Candidates must submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
