IIT Delhi is now accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs for the 2026-27 academic year. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m. Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible.
Application Process
Interested candidates must apply through IIT Delhi’s official international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in. The application portal will close on March 30, 2026.
Admission Requirements
Applicants need to submit a statement of English proficiency. They must also provide names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International test scores such as GRE and GMAT are also accepted.
All applicants must submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. A self-declaration of English proficiency is also required.
Selection Criteria
Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline. The committee will assess their suitability for the program.
