The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline for submissions is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.
Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply for both PhD and PG courses for the 2026-27 academic session. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Eligibility and Testing
IIT Delhi may require scores from national entrance exams like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs. International examination scores, such as GRE or GMAT, are also considered.
Candidates must provide scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview panel consisting of faculty members from their chosen discipline.
